Insurance Requirement

Active Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance is required to work through Texas Hog Dispatch. You may submit an operator profile before coverage is active, but the profile remains pending until THD has reviewed your proof of coverage and recorded its expiration date. Without that review, an operator cannot be approved, onboarded to payments, shown opportunities, or assigned work. Individual clients, HOAs, commercial sites, and institutions may require higher limits or additional documentation. This page is general information, not legal or insurance advice, and not a promise of opportunities.

What CGL Insurance May Cover

If a customer's property is damaged, or someone is hurt, during work you perform, CGL insurance may help protect your business, subject to the policy's terms, limits, endorsements, and exclusions. It is standard for trades that work on other people's property. How insurers classify feral hog removal, wildlife control, trapping, or related work varies by carrier — discuss your specific activities with a licensed commercial insurance professional.

Coverage Details Vary

Coverage, exclusions, firearms/trapping/wildlife-control classifications, vehicles, employees, limits, and policy terms vary widely between insurers and between operators. There is no single standard rate or classification you can assume applies to your operation. Review exclusions carefully and confirm in writing how your specific activities are covered before relying on a policy.

Where to Start

Speak with one or more licensed commercial insurance professionals or brokers who write policies for wildlife control, nuisance-animal control, or similar field trades. Get multiple quotes and compare coverage, exclusions, and endorsements — not just price. Texas Hog Dispatch does not sell, broker, endorse, or guarantee insurance, and does not recommend specific insurers or agencies.

What Texas Hog Dispatch Requires From You

  • A certificate of insurance showing active liability coverage
  • The policy expiration date
  • Your business name as it appears on the policy
  • Prompt notice if coverage changes, lapses, or is canceled
Texas Hog Dispatch reviews your proof of coverage before approval and records its expiration date. THD is not your insurer, does not guarantee that a policy covers any particular claim or loss, and does not certify, endorse, or rank operators. Approval is not a promise of work.
